Basic Information

The Edisto Beach Fall Festival is the Edisto Chamber of Commerce’s free street fair on Jungle Road, the beach town’s main shopping street. In 2026 it moved to Saturday, October 31, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., so this year the island’s autumn festival and Halloween land on the same day.

At a Glance

  • When: Saturday, October 31, 2026, 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
  • Where: Jungle Road in front of Palmetto Plaza, 114 Jungle Road, Edisto Beach
  • Cost: Free admission
  • Organizer: Edisto Chamber of Commerce
  • Good for: Families, costume fans, gift shoppers, anyone curious about island businesses and nonprofits

What’s Different in 2026

Two changes stand out. First, the date: the festival is usually held on the second Saturday in October, and the Chamber’s listing now carries a “new date” label for October 31. No reason was given. Second, there’s no art auction this time. In past years the festival hosted the Turtle Tide Art Project auction of artist-painted turtle sculptures, but Turtle Tide is taking 2026 off and plans to return in 2027.

The Day, Hour by Hour

  • 11 a.m.–4 p.m.: roughly 40 vendors line the street with arts and crafts, food, and tables from local businesses and nonprofits.
  • 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.: pumpkin carving contest for kids and adults, limited to the first 25 entrants.
  • Noon–3 p.m.: a cake walk at the top of each hour.
  • Noon–3:30 p.m.: Edisto Gumbo plays in the dirt lot between Jungle Road Plaza and the Food Lion/McConkey’s side. Bring a chair.
  • 2–3:30 p.m.: the public votes on the carved pumpkins; winners are announced at 3:30.

If the pumpkin contest is your main reason for coming, be there before 11:30, because spots go to the first 25.

A Halloween Week on the Island

The new date turns the last week of October into a run of family events. The Town’s Trick or Treat at the Creek is the Tuesday before, October 27, at Bay Creek Park. The Chamber calendar also lists a “Trick or Treating at the Beach” event on October 31; details hadn’t been posted when we checked. Over at Edisto Beach State Park, the Friday before brings ranger programs including Ravenous Reptiles and Birds of the ACE Basin on October 30 (pre-register at 843-869-4430).

Plan Your Visit

  • Getting there: Jungle Road is inside the beach town. Driving from up-island, follow SC-174 into town and watch for the Jungle Road turn; Palmetto Plaza is at 114 Jungle Road.
  • Parking: Spaces near Palmetto Plaza fill quickly. If you’re staying in town, the Edisto bike path follows part of Jungle Road, so biking over is the easy option.
  • Food: Eat at the festival, or plan dinner from our Edisto restaurant guide. For dessert, see 3 Gulls Creamery.
  • Vendors: 2026 vendor registration is closed (the deadline was September 10). Chamber members exhibit free; the non-member fee was $60.
