Wednesday Market at Bay Creek Park
Basic Information
The Bay Creek Park Wednesday Market is a curated artisan and farmers market held every Wednesday from April through October at Bay Creek Park, beside the marina on Edisto Beach. The Town of Edisto Beach runs it, and vendors are invitation-only, so what you find leans toward Edisto-made work rather than mass-produced souvenirs. The 2026 season’s last regular Wednesday was October 21, with one more pre-Thanksgiving market on November 25.

A Market Built Around Local Makers
Because the Town screens vendors and keeps a waiting list, the lineup is smaller and more deliberate than a typical flea market. The Chamber calendar sums up each week as “Art, Food, Crafts, Jewelry & More,” and vendors vary from week to week, so a second visit later in your stay won’t be a repeat of the first. If you’re hunting for a gift that actually came from Edisto, this is one of the better places to look.
Where It Fits in an Island Week
Wednesday is a good day to give the beach a rest. A practical rhythm for a week on Edisto: beach on the weekend, an up-island day for Botany Bay or the museum early in the week, then the market on Wednesday morning. Note that Botany Bay is closed on Tuesdays, so don’t try to stack it onto the day before.
If you’re staying up-island, the market is worth combining with errands in the beach town. Coming down SC-174, you can stop at King’s Farm Market for produce on the way, browse at Bay Creek Park, and finish with lunch at Pressley’s at the Marina.
Getting There and Parking
Bay Creek Park sits at the northwest end of the beach town, next to The Marina at Edisto Beach on Docksite Road. From a rental in town, the easiest approach is by bike: the island bike path starts near the marina and follows Docksite Road and Jungle Road. Golf carts work in daylight on the town’s secondary roads, but they can’t run along Palmetto Boulevard (SC-174), so pick a route on the back streets. Drivers coming from up-island or the state park’s Live Oak side should come earlier in the morning, when parking near the marina is easiest.
Plan Your Visit
- Bring small bills; not every vendor at a craft market takes cards.
- Bring a cooler bag if you’re buying food items and heading straight to the beach.
- Kids can burn off energy in the park while you shop; our things to do with kids guide has more ideas nearby.
- Check the forecast; summer afternoon storms are common, so the morning hours are the safer bet.
Is it worth planning around? It won’t decide your vacation week, but if you’re on the island on a Wednesday between April and October, it’s an easy, free morning.
